Schedule your own event. Offered for 9 or more beginners, a 2 hour private group surf lesson! We teach surfing fundamentals, etiquette, safety, proper stand-up, riding techniques, and more! Private Group Lessons are ideal for first time surfers to advanced beginners. They’re also a great way to learn to surf with a group of friends or co-workers.
This option is great for first timers as well as people who have tried surfing on their own for a while and still need help. We will walk you through all the basics to get you started and catching waves! Students will be paired with up with 3 or more individuals from your group. The instructor will be assisting all attendees as much as possible, however there will be a bit less individual attention than our private lessons. The instruction will be the same as private group lessons.
Many of our clients sign up for several classes to build their confidence in the surf. Like many sports practice and repetition are needed to progress at surfing. Some people pick it up rather quickly where as others continue to need hands on support to feel safe and fun. The best months to learn (when the waves are smaller and more forgiving) are late spring- early Fall. (April- October). We teach private lessons year around, however group lessons are only available during the months of April- October.
- We can tailor your Big Group &/or Corporate Team Building Event to your requests.
- Here’s one such example:
- Each group will spend roughly 20 mins on the beach learning about surfing fundamentals, surf etiquette, safety, proper stand-up, riding techniques, and upon request a brief history of Mavericks( the famous big wave) Then the group will be split into groups of 4, 1:4 ratio of Surf Instructor to student.
- For 40+ minutes we will hit the surf and practice catching waves while receiving coaching after each wave.
- To warm up after the session we love playing a round of water ball. Basically a combination of soccer/rugby. Then rotate the groups.
All of our lessons run for 2 hours and consist of 15-20 minutes of training on the beach and the remaining time in the water with your instructor.
